NFL Power Rankings - Week 14

1) Dallas Cowboys (11-1)

The first team to clinch a playoff berth, the Cowboys are in. The Cowboys offence struggled with season lows in points, yards and third-down conversions on Thursday night against a very good Minnesota defence. Even though Dak Prescott mostly struggled throughout the game throwing the ball downfield, he was able to make game-saving plays with his feet when scrambling for first-downs on 3rd and long on two occasions. The Cowboys face NFC East rivals New York Giants this weekend, who they suffered their only loss on the season against back in week one.

2) Seattle Seahawks (8-3-1)

The Seahawks running game does exist! Thomas Rawls rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns, with the team finishing with 240 rushing yards. That's three consecutive games the Seahawks have rushed for over 100 yards. If Seattle can continue to run the ball as effectively, the rest of the NFC should be worried. Russell Wilson is back to his playmaking-best,  with the offensive line is starting to find consistency. The Seahawks defence took a huge blow this weekend, losing free safety Earl Thomas for the rest of season. Seahawks play a lot of three-back coverage, therefore a lot will be asked of backup Steven Terrell. Playing alongside Kam Chancellor helps. Seattle can secure the NFC West this weekend if Arizona loses to Miami and they beat the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

3) New England Patriots (10-2)

No Gronk, no problem... for now. Tom Brady leads the league in passer rating, we know how great he is, but without Rob Gronkowski his numbers dramatically fall. When the Patriots are facing 3rd&7 and they need a big-play, they will miss Gronk. The receiving trio of Julian Edelman-Danny Amendola-Malcolm Mitchell all stepped up last week and will need to continue to if the Patriots are to be the team to beat in the AFC. LeGarrette Blount his best season of his career, giving the Patriots a genuine intimidating ground game. Martellus Bennett needs to feature more in the pass game. We know he is no Gronk, but he is a top 10 tight end in this league. They face a resurgent Baltimore Ravens team this weekend. Upset alert.

4) Oakland Raiders (10-2)

Derek Carr is currently my pick for MVP. This past weekend he lead his team to its 10th fourth-quarter comeback. Every week he just makes perfect throws, usually into tight coverage finding his star receivers Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree. Shoutout to Seth Roberts who has emerged as a pretty impressive third option for Carr. Latavius Murray continues to prove me wrong, I never saw him as a star running back. I still believe he is the product of a very good offensive line, but he is doing his thing adding two more touchdowns to his season. Derek Carr has been getting the Raiders the lead and Khalil Mack makes sure it stays that way. The Mack-Daddy has been turning up these past few weeks with three strip-sacks in his last four games (and he recovered all three of the fumbles by the way). Game of week 14? Oakland Raiders vs Kansas City Chiefs on TNF.

5) Kansas City Chiefs (9-3)

Eric Berry is just ridiculous. Maybe the best individual defensive performance I have seen all season, Berry picked off Matt Ryan twice. Once returning it for a touchdown, the other on a 2-pt conversion play, returning 90+ yards for a safety. The Chiefs offence is suspect, I think it hugely hurts their chances of making a deep run in the playoffs and as I have said before, I don't think you can win a Super Bowl with Alex Smith. But the Chiefs are winning games with defence and special teams making plays. Andy Reid drew the fake punt play up perfectly, which saw Albert Wilson score a rushing touchdown. Travis Kelce is starting to remind us why he is one of the best tight ends in the game. Smith needs to look for him as much as he can. As I said previously, we got ourselves a ball game on Thursday night.

6) Pittsburgh Steelers (7-5)

Surprised? Me too. A few weeks ago I was so down on this team, I thought they might miss the playoffs. But over the past three games, they look like the team I thought they would be at the start of the season. Offensive coordinator Todd Haley has finally started to involve Le'Veon Bell as he should be. For my money, Bell is the best running back in the league. He always seems to find the gaps and make big plays when it looks like they are about to lose yardage.

7) Denver Broncos (8-4)

This team once again showed us how much it relies on its defence to make plays. The Broncos only led by seven at halftime, before Blake Bortles started to do Blake Bortles things, like throw an interception which Bradley Roby returned for a touchdown. Von Miller sealed the win against the Jaguars with a strip-sack in the fourth quarter. Rookie Paxton Lynch got the start at quarterback with Siemian out through injury. Lynch threw for a mere 104 yards passing on 12 of 24 completions. That is enough to beat the Jaguars, but the Broncos will need more from their quarterbacks down the stretch. You're not winning a playoff game completing 12 passes... unless you're Tim Tebow.

8) Detroit Lions (8-4)

Is their a better QB-WR duo in the league than Matthew Stafford and Golden Tate right now? They connected on a 66-yard pass that pretty much ended the game this past weekend against the Saints. The Lions running game is one of the league's worst, yet Matthew Stafford keeps putting together long drives, keeping his defence off the field. The Lions defence were still able to manage three interceptions, not a good day for Drew Brees. The Lions face the struggling Bears this weekend. Should they win this game and the Seahawks beat the Packers, the NFC North will be the Lions' to lose.

9) Baltimore Ravens (7-5)

Joe Flacco had his best game of the season this weekend, and he needed to. The Ravens virtually had no running game, no play action. They just let Flacco sit in the pocket and see what he can do against the Dolphins. He ended the game with four touchdowns. Baltimore's defence was able to shut down one of the best running backs this season, Jay Ajayi whilst also holding Ryan Tannehill to just eight yards per completion. Flacco will need to replicate this performance if the Ravens are to beat the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football.

10) New York Giants (8-4)

Most people are down on this team right now and I understand why. The Giants cannot afford to keep having so many empty possessions on offence. It all starts with the offensive line. They simply can't block long enough for the receivers to get into their routes, therefore Eli Manning is getting the ball out of his hands quickly which is resulting in short yardage gains. You can't rely on that all game, especially when your running game is non-existent. The Giants NEED to run the ball with effectiveness. The defence will keep them in games, although losing Jason Pierre-Paul for the season is a huge blow. I think the Giants matchup pretty well with the Cowboys. Dallas struggles to get pressure on the quarterback, therefore this should give Odell Beckham, Sterling Shepard and co. time to get into their routes and giving Eli enough time in the pocket to find them. Manning cannot afford to turn the ball over against this team.

11) Green Bay Packers (6-6)

Aaron Rodgers is quietly getting back to playing like himself again. On his day, he is the best quarterback in the NFL. When he is able to use his legs to buy himself time, he will hurt you as he has shown with 10 passing touchdowns outside the pocket. The Packers are having no success running the ball, it will be interesting to see if Christine Michael is able to make plays against his old team this weekend at a cold, snowy Lambeau Field.
Rodgers will have to be at his scrambling best this weekend, running from Michael Bennett, Cliff Avril, Frank Clark and the Seahawks.

12) Atlanta Falcons (7-5)

This one might surprise some people, but hear me out... I have never really been high on this team all season. I think it is now pretty obvious how bad the Falcons defence is. Their inability to make plays and create turnovers puts a lot of pressure on Matt Ryan to win them games. To his credit, thus far he has done a good job of doing just that. However, when it gets to the playoffs, I don't believe you make much noise with a defence this bad. Also, I'm starting to have a problem with "Matty Ice". Although he went to my favourite school (Boston College), he hasn't played up to his nickname the past few seasons with late turnovers and poor results towards the end of the season. He is a great quarterback, no doubt, but that interception he threw to Eric Berry on the 2-pt conversion... Ouch.

13) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-5)

Jameis Winston has hugely stepped up, taking his team on a four-game winning streak. He has defeated two elite defences in the past few weeks in the Seahawks and Chiefs all doing so whilst spreading the ball around. Lavonte David is having an unbelievable season and this past week came up huge for the Bucs with a pick-six late in the third quarter which gave his team the momentum to go on and win the game.

14) Washington Redskins (6-5-1)

The Redskins keep missing chances to close in the Cowboys, and it looks like it is going to hurt them. They can't seem to find the end zone and have to settle for field goals, that needs to change if they are to secure a wildcard spot. Their defence needs to step up, in the last two games they have allowed 62 points with no takeaways. They face the Eagles this week in a must-win game for both teams.

15) Arizona Cardinals (5-6-1)

The Cardinals may have saved their season this past weekend, going for it on 4th&1 on their own 34 and being able to run the clock out. Does Arians not trust his defence? Or does he just trust that David Johnson is an absolute beast and will get the first-down? Probably the latter. Had the Cardinals have had a better season, Johnson would be in the MVP conversation. The Cardinals pretty much need to win every game and hope Seattle lose a few if they are to retain their NFC West crown. They must beat the Dolphins this weekend, if they are to even stay in the hunt for a wild-card spot.

16) Minnesota Vikings (6-6)

The Vikings will feel unlucky to have lost against the Cowboys last Thursday, they were one blown facemask call away from tying the game. Minnesota's front seven did a great job containing Ezekiel Elliott. However, the secondary didn't have their best game letting Dez Bryant loose for a huge play on star safety Harrison Smith. Adam Thielen's dropped punt return simply gifted the Cowboys the game. This weekend the Vikings secondary should have some joy against Blake Bortles, who can't stop throwing interceptions.

17) Miami Dolphins (7-5)

Welp... that's one way to end a six-game winning streak. The Dolphins had more turnovers in their loss last week against the Ravens than they did in their winning streak. Ryan Tannehill had played as well as I have ever seen him play, but struggled against a very good Ravens defence and wasn't able to get much going. Miami's defence were not able to contain Dennis Pitta who scored two touchdowns. The Dolphins defence will face another tough task this weekend, trying to stop David Johnson.

18) Buffalo Bills (6-6)

A lot of questions are being asked if the Bills should keep Tyrod Taylor. I find that pretty laughable. Tyrod Taylor and LeSean McCoy have been the bright sparks of the team this season. The Bills have been hugely let down by its defence and in particular, the secondary. They have pretty good personnel, but the defensive backs have given up huge plays in seemingly every game. Rex Ryan, seen as a master of defence will have his hands full this weekend as the Bills come up against the Steelers.

19) Houston Texans (6-6)

Texans did look like they could have the AFC South locked up. Not anymore. The division is wide open with the Colts and Titans all sharing the same record. The Texans were without Jadeveon Clowney this weekend, and it showed as they were able to get little pressure on Aaron Rodgers. Brock Osweiler continues to be inconsistent, however he was not helped by his star receiver DeAndre Hopkins dropping three catchable balls. HUGE game this weekend as the Texans face the Colts.

20) Indianapolis Colts (6-6)

It was a horrible game on Monday Night Football, but Andrew Luck was unbelievable throwing into tight windows. If the Colts offensive line can hold up as it did against the Jets, Luck will have the time to find TY Hilton, Dwayne Allen and those boys. The Colts defence weren't tested at all against the Jets. However they will be when they come up against Lamar Miller and the Texans.

21) Tennessee Titans (6-6)

Titans were on a bye week this past week. They face the Broncos this week, a huge test for Marcus Mariota and the Titans inconsistent offence.

22) Philadelphia Eagles (5-7)

Once upon a time, the Eagles were 5th on my power rankings. This was a huge surprise to me. Speaking to a friend of mine who is an Eagles fan, I predicted they would win four games. With a rookie head coach, a rookie quarterback, average wide receivers and Chip Kelly's mess, I thought they would struggle to find ways to win games. They are starting to look like that team, towards the end of the season. The Eagles have a bright future though, Pederson will be a good head coach and Carson Wentz has already shown he has the intangibles and potential to be a great quarterback. Rumours around the league are that DeSean Jackson may be returning to the Eagles next season when he becomes a free agent.

23) Cincinnati Bengals (4-7-1)

The Bengals came into week 13 riding a three game losing streak whilst allowing 18+ points per game, however they were able to play like the team we expected they would be at the start of the season, this past week against the Eagles. Andy Dalton threw for 332 yards all without AJ Green and Giovani Bernard. Vontaze Burfict let his unbelievable plays do the talking with two interceptions and 15 tackles. If #55 can stay out of trouble, he is one of the best linebackers in the league. We won't see the black and orange in the postseason. This could be Marvin Lewis' last season at head coach.

24) San Diego Chargers (5-7)

San Diego carry on throwing away games they probably should be winning. They have lost 5 of their 7 games by less than 8 points and have turned the ball over a league-high 25 times, which have cost the Chargers in each of their seven losses. Mike McCoy needs to get back to giving the ball to Melvin Gordon. Philip Rivers is throwing the ball too much (another reason they are turning it over). This week however, Rivers should fire away throwing the ball down field against a subpar Carolina secondary.

25) Carolina Panthers (4-8)

WHO'D OF THOUGHT?! The Carolina Panthers are out of playoff contention with four weeks to go. Coach Rivera BENCHED Cam Newton for the first drive, because he didn't wear a tie on the plane journey... Really? Things don't seem to be well between Rivera and Cam. I thought something was up two weeks ago against the Raiders. Carolina offence on 4th&1 with the game and their season on the line, at the 40 and they decide to punt? With 65, 250lbs Cam Newton at the ready to run a quarterback sneak and potentially win go down the field and win the game. This week against Seattle, the Panthers star defensive tackles Star Lotulelei and Kawann Short weren't able to make much of an impact against Seattle's inconsistent offensive line. Cam Newton has failed to complete 50% of his passes for the past three games. The last quarterback to do this? Josh Freeman, who was released shortly after.

26) New Orleans Saints (5-7)

When Drew Brees doesn't have a good day, you know the Saints are in for a terrible day. Brees has kept them in games throwing the football downfield and making things happen on offence. We know the Saints defence cant seem to stop anything. This weekend, Brees had by far his worst game of the season throwing three interceptions. Largely due to the offensive line collapsing in front of him, the Saints offence could not get going. Saints-Bucs should be a great game, potential upset.

27) Los Angeles Rams (4-8)

So, this past week Jeff Fisher got a contract extension. Having missed the playoffs 16 times in 22 seasons, not having a winning record since 2008 and not winning a playoff game since 2003... talk about job security. The Rams new quarterback Jared Goff is 0-3 with a 31.9 Total QBR. However, Jared Goff has a chance to showcase his talents against a below average defence in Atlanta. Jeff Fisher didn't want a 7-9 season, I think he'd take that right now.

28) Chicago Bears (3-9)

The Bears have a lot of issues they need to address this off-season, but at least they have their franchise running back. Jordan Howard rushed for 117 yards and three touchdowns this past weekend. He has averaged 4.9 yards per carry, which is the same as Ezekiel Elliott. The Bears will look to upset the Lions this weekend, a team which Howard also had an 100-yard rushing game performance against when they met earlier in the season.

29) New York Jets (3-9)

I wish I could put them last after that pathetic performance on Monday Night Football. As an English guy who has never even stepped onto to an American Football field never mind played the game, it would be naïve of me to state that they quit. What is absolutely fair to say, is  that the Jets they did not give 100%. Coming onto the season, the Jets had one of the most feared defensive lines in football. Yet they were unable to get any pressure on the worst offensive line in the league as Andrew Luck had all day to throw in the pocket and did just that. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been the biggest disappointment of the season as he now has the worst touchdown-interception ratio in the NFL. Bryce Petty will be the starter for the rest of the season.

30) Jacksonville Jaguars (2-10)

Blake Bortles has thrown 11 interceptions that have been returned touchdowns since he was drafted in 2014.
Blake Bortles has won 10 games since he was drafted in 2014.
I have never been a Bortles fan, but I never thought he would be THIS bad. How long before the Jags give up on Bortles? Two more seasons probably. It is a shame, they have great personnel on both sides of the ball, they just can't find way to win games.
Gus Bradley is lucky to still be in a job.

31) San Francisco 49ers (1-11)

Colin Kaepernick was benched for Blaine Gabbert. It was that bad. Not much to say about this team really, just an absolute mess. Worst defence in the NFL, no consistency at quarterback, not much of a running game and just one win. I would rather watch X Factor this weekend than watch the 49ers vs Jets.

32) Cleveland Browns (0-12)

For the first time in this NFL season, the Browns didn't lose this weekend. The bad news: The Browns had a bye week. Hang in there Browns fans, Robert Griffin is back this weekend. Maybe he throws a 60-yard bomb to Terrelle Pryor? Maybe Duke Johnson shreds through the Bengals defence for three rushing touchdowns? I don't know. I feel for you, Cleveland. At least you have LeBron.

NFL Power Rankings - Week 12

1) Dallas Cowboys (9-1)

The Cowboys enter their thanksgiving game riding the longest season win streak in franchise history, all doing so with their rookie quarterback. People who claim Dak Prescott is a product of the offensive line (I was one of those people), need to take a closer look at his game. Even though he seems to have all day in the pocket (he wasn't even touched in the second half last week), Prescott has completed an NFL-best 78% of his passes in the fourth quarter. The rookie from Mississippi State is showing the necessary patience in the pocket to hit his receivers for big plays, rather than trying to run the ball for 5 yards. The Cowboys defence continues to impress even with key players missing. The Cowboys face the Redskins can find a way to beat Big D, the race for the NFC East could be wide open.

2) Seattle Seahawks (7-2-1)

The Seahawks finally have a running game! After waiving starting running back Christine Michael, the Seahawks welcomed Thomas Rawls back into the team along with rookie C.J. Prosise with reps. The Seahawks rushed for a season-high 152 yards on Sunday after averaging less than half that entering last weekend. After Prosise burst onto the scene with a 72-yard rushing touchdown, he and newly-added running back Troymaine Pope both went down, Rawls will be forced to carry the load for the next few weeks. Seattle also lost key two members of the "Legion of Boom" in Earl Thomas and DeShawn Shead to hamstring injuries, they will both be out for at least two weeks. Anyway, enough of the injury talk... This Seattle Seahawks team looks scary. Russell Wilson finally looks like he is able to make plays out of the pocket and has been able to find Jimmy Graham and Doug Baldwin, who are also starting to look more dangerous, now that Russ is healthy. The Seahawks defence is by far the best in the league, I genuinely don't see how it is much of a debate. Wentz dropped back to pass 47 times, yet the Seahawks D were able to hold him to 195 yards. Rushing the quarterback hasn't been a problem, even without Michael Bennett, who Tom Brady calls the "best defensive player in the league", the Seahawks lead the NFL in sacks (31). Up next for Seattle, the quietly improving Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

3) New England Patriots (8-2)

The San Francisco 49ers were never going to give the Patriots too many problems, so it's hard to change where I had them last week. The Pats defence continues to look average, especially since losing their best player Jamie Collins (traded to the Browns). However, the Pats offence is still the best offence in football. Tom Brady threw for four touchdowns this weekend against the 49ers, and quite frankly could and should have thrown for a lot more, all without Rob Gronkowski. LaGarrette Blount continues to impress and his having the best season in his career, rushing for 124 yards. The Patriots face the Jets this weekend, who shouldn't give them much problems.

4) Oakland Raiders (8-2)

Just win, baby! That's all these Oakland Raiders seem to do right now, as they improved to an 8-2 record after a controversial win in Mexico City on Monday Night Football. The Raiders got straight-up lucky on three occasions, including the 3rd&1 and 4th&1 plays in the fourth quarter in which the Texans clearly gained enough yardage for the 1st down, yet the Raiders got the call and received the ball back, which set up the Raiders game-winning drive. Derek Carr continues to show he is an MVP candidate, with another touchdown in the fourth quarter (second most TD's in the 4th quarter in the NFL). Is there a better wide receiver duo than Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree right now? This week, the Raiders below average defence must contain Cam Newton.

5) New York Giants (7-3)

Surprised? You shouldn't be. The New York Giants (somehow) have gone under the radar, no-one is really talking about them even though they have the second-longest active winning streak in the league (tied with the Miami Dolphins). We know the Giants have an explosive offence; Eli Manning, Odell Beckham, Victor Cruz and Sterling Shepard scares any defence. But now that Rashad Jennings is having success running the ball, with 85 yards on 21 carries this past week, the playbook has opened for the receivers to become more effective. The Giants now have difference makers on their defence. Jason Pierre-Paul and Olivier Vernon can rush the passer, Damon Harrison has been a dominant run-stuffer and defensive backs Janoris Jenkins and Landon Collins have been playing at an All-Pro level. The Giants face the winless Cleveland Browns this weekend and could really put pressure on the Cowboys in the NFC East.

6) Kansas City Chiefs (7-3)

Alex Smith is not having a great season... at all. He has thrown as many touchdowns as Case Keenum. I have never been an Alex Smith fan. I believe his inability to throw the ball down the field ultimately hurts them when it comes to the playoffs and clutch situations. But this season in particular, I think he is hurting this teams chances to be a serious contender. However, I do still believe they are the sixth best team in the NFL. Smith needs his star receivers Jeremy Maclin and Travis Kelce (tight end) to stay healthy and they need more from their running backs. Kansas City do have a great defence, but this past weekend struggled against Tampa Bay's running and throwing attacks. This team still has the personnel to worry any opposition in the NFL. Alex Smith needs a huge bounce-back game if the Chiefs are to defeat the Bronco's defence this weekend.

7) Denver Broncos (7-3)

The Broncos were on a bye week in week 11. Trevor Siemian has struggled in the past few weeks after having a reasonably good start to the season. Rumours of Paxton Lynch becoming the starting quarterback are far-fetched, the rookie out of Memphis University has shown he has a bright future, but is not ready to carry the load for this team. An off-season full of reading playbooks and learning how to read a defence will most likely see him as the starter next season. The Broncos hope to have starting cornerback Aqib Talib back this weekend against the unpredictable Kansas City Chiefs.

8) Atlanta Falcons (6-4)

Another team with a bye this past week. The Falcons are the only team averaging more than 30 points per game this season, however the next three weeks this offence will be put to the test. Atlanta's next three games the Cardinals, Chiefs and Rams who can all rush the passer and rank top 10 in fewest points allowed this season. Matt Ryan is an MVP candidate, Julio Jones should be an MVP candidate and Devonta Freeman is having another impressive season. I think the Falcons could lose against the Cardinals this weekend (maybe that's just the pessimistic Seahawks in me) but I like the match-ups for Arizona, however the Cardinals have been losing games I thought they would win all season.

9) Washington Redskins (6-3-1)

I have so much respect for Kirk Cousins. This off-season he banked on himself, signing a one-year contract. That looks to have been a great decision. Cousins is 3rd in completed passes and 6th in total QBR. He has been especially impressive throwing the ball down the field to Jamison Crowder, Pierre Garcon, DeSean Jackson and the crew. The Redskins offence found another weapon this past week, in the form of running back Robert Kelley. Kelley was able to hit the gap for big yardage against a struggling Green Bay Packers. The Redskins defence has also looked much better over the past few weeks. Josh Norman brings a swagger to a secondary that does give up some big plays, but have been able to make one big play to win the game for the Redskins seemingly every week. In week 2, the Redskins nearly handed the Cowboys their second less. 10 weeks later, they'll have another crack at achieving just that.

10) Detroit Lions (6-4)

Another quarterback that deserves a lot of credit, Matthew Stafford. The Lions won this weekend with only 12 rushing yards on 21 carries. Stafford drove his offence down the field in the fourth quarter to score the game-winning score for the sixth time this season. Stafford has been able to rely upon receivers Marvin Jones and Eric Ebron for huge plays in clutch situations. The Lions could take a two-game lead in the NFC North on Thanksgiving Thursday with a win over the Vikings. Both teams have had huge players from special teams in the past weeks, so this could be an exciting game to watch whilst you're finishing off your turkey.

11) Miami Dolphins (6-4)

Don't look now, but the Miami Dolphins have won five games in a row. I don't really know what to think of this team, in four of their last five wins they have been trailing in the fourth quarter and not played especially well. This past week against the Los Angeles Rams, the Dolphins played horribly for 56 minutes. In the last four minutes, Tannehill drove the offence down the field twice, going 57 yards to win the game. DeVante Parker came up huge in the clutch. Jay Ajayi finally came back down to Earth, struggling against a really good defensive front seven. Miami had key offensive linemen out this weekend, so I don't expect Ajayi's struggles to continue for much longer; he's the real deal. The Dolphins face the 49ers this weekend. It'll be six in a row.

12) Minnesota Vikings (6-4)

The defence and special teams once again stepped up for the Vikings and won them a game. The Vikings found their early season form against the Cardinals, in a win that they desperately needed to stop the bleeding from their four-game losing streak. Will they remain playing at this level? I don't believe so. Sam Bradford has played like I think we all expect him to play, he's an average NFL quarterback. I think he is better than Teddy Bridgewater, that will be interesting to see who they will stick with after giving up a first rounder to get Bradford. He is not helped by a poor offensive line that can't block at all for the run. Is there any point in Adrian Peterson coming back this year? What can he do behind this o-line? That remains to be seen. The Vikings have some tough matches coming up, starting this Thursday against the Lions.

13) Buffalo Bills (5-5)

The Buffalo Bills are the best rushing offence in the NFL, leading the league in yards per game, yards per rush and touchdowns. The Tyrod Taylor-LeSean McCoy read option offence should scare any defence, as they showed against Seattle when they nearly defeated the Seahawks at Century Link. Shady McCoy got hurt this past week, the Bills will need him down the stretch if they are going to make a push for the playoffs. The Bills secondary continues to give up big plays on throws down the field, the team was flagged nine times for 75 yards in week 11. The Bills face the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend. If Shady can't go, they will need Tyrod to win the game with his arm (and maybe a few Blake Bortles turnovers).

14) Philadelphia Eagles (5-5)

After watching a full Carson Wentz game for the first time this season against my Seattle Seahawks, I found myself feeling sorry for the rookie quarterback. Wentz played a pretty good game against the "Legion of Boom". He was able to gain yardage with his legs on broken plays and threw the ball. Yes, he was picked off by Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor, but both were pretty great plays from the defensive backs and Wentz was under pressure to be sacked for a safety on the Sherman pick. However, the reason I feel sorry for Carson Wentz - the Eagles receivers. Nelson Agholor and Dorial Green-Beckham especially have been borderline pathetic this season. Huge dropped passes, false start penalties, running the wrong routes... and a little more dropped passes. The Eagles usually dominant front seven were not able to give Russell Wilson and the Seahawks below average offensive line much trouble this past week. They will need to a big game this weekend if the Eagles are to beat the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay's defence is awful, but they can't afford to give Rodgers all day to throw the ball.

15) Houston Texans (6-4)

I also felt sorry for Bill O'Brien and the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. The Texans outplayed the number 4 team on my rankings, before blowing a fourth quarter lead. The Texans were incredibly unlucky with poor officiating, which I spoke about earlier. Brock Osweiler is slowly improving, Lamar Miller is a top five running back in the league and they still have DeAndre Hopkins. I think this offence is capable of putting up points, along with a Texans defence that is playing really well. Jadeveon Clowney was really impressive, can you imagine him and JJ Watt playing together rushing the edge? Jeez. The question is, do you trust Brock Osweiler down the stretch to make the right decisions and most importantly - not turn the ball over. The Texans return home to face the Chargers this weekend.

16) Baltimore Ravens (5-5)

At 5-5, the Ravens sit atop of the underwhelming AFC North. In all honesty, the Ravens could be 10-0, and they could be 0-10. All five of their losses have been less than eight points and they have either thrown away or took the lead in the fourth quarter. But, three of the Ravens wins have come against the Browns and Jaguars. The Ravens have an exceptional run defence but was not able to contain Dez Bryant this past weekend, especially after the Ravens lost their best cornerback Jimmy Smith. The Ravens face the Bengals who will be without AJ Green. Expect the Ravens to end the Bengals season, if it isn't already.

17) Arizona Cardinals (4-5-1)

18) Pittsburgh Steelers (5-5)

19) Indianapolis Colts (5-5)

20) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-5)

21) Carolina Panthers (4-6)

22) Tennessee Titans (5-6)

23) San Diego Chargers (4-6)

24) Green Bay Packers (4-6)

25) New Orleans Saints (4-6)

26) Cincinnati Bengals (3-6-1)

27) Los Angeles Rams (4-6)

28) New York Jets (3-7)

29) Chicago Bears (2-8)

30) Jacksonville Jaguars (2-8)

31) San Francisco 49ers (1-9)

32) Cleveland Browns (0-11)

NFL Power Rankings: Week 10

We are officially past the half way point in the NFL regular season. We have seen every NFL team play at least eight times. It is at this point in the season, I feel like we actually know some things about each team, to a point where they can be logically ranked.
At the start of the season, we all make our predictions on which teams we think will be Super Bowl contenders, which teams will be impressive and which teams will struggle. These first nine weeks has shown us that at the start of the season when we make our predictions, we all have no clue. After the first few weeks, we think we know some things. We may assume teams are starting to surprise us with consecutive victories, but then you realise that those victories came against the Browns and the Bears…
However, now each team has played eight games, each team has played against playoff contenders, playoff pretenders and teams that just aren’t going to have a fun year.
So, this will be my attempt to rank each team, from 1-32 as which teams I see are the best right now. I will be making weekly to this list, when I rank the teams after each week of the regular season.

1          1)    New England Patriots (7-1)

This off-season, everyone spoke about the potential for Pittsburgh Steelers offence to be one of the greatest of all-time. In reality, their offence isn’t even that close to the Patriots offence. The moment they picked up tight end Martellus Bennett from the Bears, was the moment they probably secured themselves another trip to the Super Bowl. Their two tight ends, two wide receivers and a running back offence is un-guardable. If you leave Rob Gronkowski (6’5) in single coverage, he’ll beat you. If double up on Gronk you then leave Martellus Bennett (6’6) in single coverage and two Patriot wide receivers in single coverage, who have proved that they can beat you, and I haven’t even mentioned that their quarterback is Tom Brady. Brady is completing 75% of his passes and is yet to thrown an interception. The defence is good, but not great. I still don’t understand why they let Chandler Jones and Jamie Collins go… but who am I to question the greatest coach in NFL history?

2          2)    Dallas Cowboys (7-1)

I can’t believe I’m writing this… but for once, the fans are right. There’s something happening with these Dallas Cowboys. A fourth-round rookie quarterback from Mississippi State is changing the way they play football. Dak Prescott has been a revelation. He is making sensible throws, finding the open man and most importantly, not turning the ball over. Having said all of that… Dak Prescott is not the reason that the Dallas Cowboys are 7-1. That would be the offensive line. The Cowboys offensive line isn’t just the best o-line in football, it is the best unit of any position in football. The line has aided rookie running back Ezekiel Elliot to average 5 yards per carry and 117 rushing yards per game. The Cowboys are the only team in the NFL that has run more than they have passed. As much of a surprise that Dak Prescott has been, the biggest surprise concerning the Cowboys, the defence has actually been pretty good. The pass-rushing has been below average, but the secondary has been impressive. The Cowboys will travel to Pittsburgh on Sunday. Expect Big Ben to test a Dallas secondary missing key players Morris Claiborne and Barry Church.

3)    Oakland Raiders (7-2)
The Raiders have a great offence. Derek Carr is quietly an MVP candidate himself, but he has been largely helped by a great offensive line. Carr's o-line bought him time to throw for what feels like the seventh straight game. It helps when you have studs like Michael Crabtree and emerging superstar Amari Cooper out wide. The o-line has also opened some holes up for Latavius Murray. Teams have found themselves stacking the line of scrimmage to stop Murray. That’s when you can expect Carr to target his two favourite receivers. The Raiders defence has given up some big plays on defence in the opening weeks, but over the last few games has shown a decent enough improvement for them to be considered genuine AFC contenders.

4          4)    Seattle Seahawks (5-2-1)

The Seahawks offence finally found their rhythm last night. Their offensive line had started off poorly this season, but had improved vastly in games against the 49ers, Jets and Falcons. I don’t think it is even a debate; the Seahawks have the best defence in the NFL. Two weeks ago, we saw them hold the Cardinals offence to just a field goal and did so all without All-Pro safety and their defensive captain, Kam Chancellor. In the last two games against the Saints and Bills, the defence has given up 50 points, mostly down to great quarterback performances from Drew Brees and Tyrod Taylor. Seahawks will hope Kam Chancellor and Michael Bennett are able to return for Sunday’s clash and Super Bowl 49 rematch against the Patriots. The Seahawks offensive line usually improves as the season progresses; they have a great o-line coach in Tom Cable who will need to work wonders. Russell Wilson is finally starting to look healthy and was able to make plays out of the pocket.

5)    Atlanta Falcons (6-3)
Matt Ryan is an MVP candidate at this point. Julio Jones is torching everyone he comes up against; did you see him beat quadruple coverage for that touchdown against the Chargers the other week?! The Falcons' offense leads the NFL in scoring this season and is averaging 33.9 points per game, a field goal better than the next-best team. Atlanta’s defence is just not that good. Vic Beasley is starting to get pressure on the quarterback and is quickly turning into the player we saw at Clemson. Desmond Trufant is one of the most underrarted cornerbacks in the league. That’s all the nice things I have to say about that defence. The Falcons face a tough Eagles front seven this week. Matt Ryan and Julio Jones will look to exploit Philly’s struggling secondary.

6)    Kansas City Chiefs (6-2)
The Chiefs continue to find ways to win. But are they a real threat in the AFC? They have a 6-2 record and the fourth-best turnover differential but only a plus-13 point differential. Alex Smith is a good but not great quarterback. He’s probably not going to beat you over the top as we know; he has below average arm strength. If he keeps distributing the ball to his playmakers, especially Jeremy Maclin and Travis Kelce, the Chiefs will put up points. The Chiefs defence leads the league with 10 INTs, five of them belonging to All-Pro cornerback Marcus Peters. However, quarterbacks in the fourth quarter have torched the secondary. As I am writing this, the Chiefs have just announced that Justin Houston is will be active this weekend. A huge boost for Andy Reid’s defence.

7          7)    Denver Broncos (6-3)

If the Seahawks have the best defence in the NFL, then the Broncos are 1a. They stopped former quarterback Brock Osweiler from doing much pretty anything. Von Miller is the best pass-rusher in the league and with Chis Harris Jr., Aqib Talib, Bradley Roby, TJ Ward and Darian Stewart in the secondary, good luck trying to throw down the field. Teams have had some success running the ball on Denver, they are ranked 23rd against the run. On offence, not paying Osweiler and sticking with Siemian was a great decision. Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders are both difference makers, the offensive line is improving and will look to help rookie Devontae Booker in the run game to ease the pressure on Trevor Siemian.  The Broncos missed Talib this past week in a loss against the Raiders and will hope to have him back this weekend when they will come up against Drew Brees.

8          8)    Minnesota Vikings (5-3)

The Minnesota Vikings are the NFC’s Denver Broncos… (but probably not as good). Both teams use a short passing game. Both teams run the ball as much as possible. And both teams require a game-changing defensive or special-teams play to swing the momentum their way. Sam Bradford’s offensive line isn’t helping him too much. Starting tackles Jake Long and T.J. Clemmings have made him look like the same Sam Bradford who frequently collapsed in the pocket in his days in St Louis and Philadelphia. They have struggled to run the ball all season. Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata are good back-ups, but haven’t had much success with the Vikings ranking dead last in rushing yards. This team needs Adrian Peterson back in the worst way if they are going to make any noise in the playoffs. I still rank the Vikings high strictly because of how good their defence has been. They travel to Washington this weekend, needing a win to revive their season.

9)    New York Giants (5-3)
Two weeks ago, I wrote that the Giants needed to wake up… The Giants look like they might have woken up. They have the team to beat any given team on any given Sunday. I know that’s a huge cliché, but they could beat, for example, the Patriots and I wouldn’t be too shocked about that. Eli Manning is not having a great year, which is a big reason why Odell Beckham Jr. has had a turbulent season. The Giants need to be more effective running the ball, which will open up their offence. The defence continues to be improve with Landon Collins, Jason Pierre-Paul and Damon Harrison making big and clutch plays. Giants have a tough game coming up on Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals, who are trying to revive their playoff aspirations.

10) Detroit Lions (5-4)
Matthew Stafford has been the best quarterback in the NFL since week 8 of the 2015 season. He has thrown for 38 touchdowns and nine interceptions during that time. The fact that the Detroit Lions are 5–4 and in the thick of the playoff race says more about Matthew Stafford’s MVP candidacy than any of his own stats would. The Lions defence has been historically bad. Opposing quarterbacks are completing 74.2% of their passes against the Lions this season, which would be the highest success rate ever allowed in NFL history.  Do I think the Lions are the 10th best team in the NFL? Probably not, but right now I cannot put any of the below teams higher.

11) Green Bay Packers (4-4)
I still believe in this team. Aaron Rodgers is having a bad season for his standards. Jordy Nelson doesn’t look like he has recovered from his injury that forced him to miss the 2015 season. Eddie Lacy is most likely out for the year. However, they still have the #1 ranked defence against the run, a secondary that is good but I believe will improve, and they still have Aaron Rodgers. Has any player established a higher bar for him to hit? Ty Montgomery has been dynamic out there replacing Eddie Lacy, but it remains to be seen if he can continue carrying the load at running back. Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson must step up for this team to be a playoff contender. This weekend Green Bay’s #1 ranked rush defence comes up against Tennessee’s #3 ranked rushing offence.

12) Pittsburgh Steelers (4-4)
Pittsburgh has had a rough start to the season. They just can’t get all of their better players on the field together. Big Ben, Le’Veon Bell, Ryan Shazier, Markus Wheaton have all missed games. At the start of the season, people were predicting the Steelers offence had the potential to be the one of the best of all-time. They have the best running back in the league (Le’Veon Bell) and the best wide receiver in the league (Antonio Brown), however the offence has struggled and has looked predictable. Last week against the Ravens, they sat back in zone defence protecting against the deep ball. Question must be asked of offensive co-ordinator Todd Haley, with the Steelers only managing two first downs in the entire game. Pittsburgh’s defence is a problem. Even though they rank 11th in run defence, their best defensive player on the team, Ryan Shazier admitted the Steelers rush defence is “garbage”… (they also rank 20th against the pass).

13) Philadelphia Eagles (4-4)
Even more surprising than the success of the Dallas Cowboys this season is the Philadelphia Eagles early emergence as playoff contenders. The moment they traded away Sam Bradford and announced Carson Wentz as the starter, I predicted they would go 4-1. Wentz had started perfectly with a 3-0 record throwing no interceptions. Since then, his and the Eagles form has regressed and they now sit at 4-4. The Eagles front defensive seven has been stout, with Fletcher Cox making an early case for defensive player of the year. However they have a lot of issues in the secondary with everyone not named Malcolm Jenkins. This week’s assignment for them… Julio Jones.  The Eagles have the second-hardest remaining strength of schedule and have a 29% chance of making the playoffs according to FPI.

14) Washington Redskins (3-4-1)
Washington Redskins confuse me. They are good at every position, but they are great nowhere. Kirk Cousins is the most unpredictable quarterback there is in the NFL. He’ll overthrow a wide open DeSean Jackson one play (how does that even happen?), and on then torch a secondary on the next. Redskins offence has been effective however; Trent Williams and Brandon Scherff continue to open up big holes in the run game for Matt Jones and Chris Thompson. On defence Ryan Kerrigan is playing amazing football coming off the edge and the Redskins have a good, but unpredictable secondary.  Josh Norman has looked great at times and has struggled. The Redskins will need him to be at his highest level. His next three assignments: Stefon Diggs, Jordy Nelson and Dez Bryant.

15) Arizona Cardinals (3-4-1)
The team which I believe has the best roster in the NFL. The Cardinals were a chip-shot field goal away from being right back in the mix in the NFC West a few weeks ago against the Seahawks. They just have not looked the team like most people expected they would be. Carson Palmer is not playing like he did last season. His 54.2 Total QBR this season is 24.4 points lower than his mark for all of last season. However, running back David Johnson is having a great year, accounting for 37 percent of the team's yards from scrimmage, which is by far the highest total in the NFL. The Cardinals have a must win game against the San Francisco 49ers. Expect David Johnson to have a big game against a 49ers defence that is allowing more than five yards per carry, by far the worst in the NFL.

16) Buffalo Bills (4-5)
Shady McCoy has been outstanding and is most of the reason that this team has won four games. If I need any proof to back the statement up, they lost two weeks ago against the Miami Dolphins, Shady was hurt. This past week, they were one play away from beating the Seahawks in Seattle. The performances of Tyrod Taylor and Shady McCoy against the “Legion Of Boom” was pretty sensational. As a Seahawks fan, one of the best QB-RB performances I have seen in a long time against the league’s best defence. The Bills defence is slowly getting improving, especially the secondary with Ronald Darby and Stephon Gilmore. Rookie defensive end Shaq Lawson is now active for the Bills, if he plays anything like we saw he could at Clemson, along with Marcell Dareus set to return, the Bills defence could surprise a lot of people. Tyrod Taylor desperately needs Sammy Watkins back, especially if they are going to give New England any problems in the AFC East.

17) Cincinnati Bengals (3-4-1)
Last year they were an unnecessary roughness penalty away from advancing deep into the playoffs, without insane, game-saving plays from AJ Green they would probably be already out of playoff contention. An encouraging sign, Jeremy Hill is back effectively running the ball. Apart from this, the Bengals do not have much to smile about. Their three wins have come against the Jets, Dolphins and Brown. Those teams have won five combined games this season. Andy Dalton has also regressed this year after having an MVP candidate season this year. The Bengals slow start was hugely down to their inability to score in the red zone, scoring on only 42% of red zone drives in their first six games. Since the return of their tight end Tyler Eifert, the Bengals are now converting on 83% of red zone drives. I still believe this team can make the playoffs, they have a great defensive line and of course, they have AJ Green.

18) San Diego Chargers (4-5)
The Chargers had a nightmare start to the season, but over the past two weeks there have been some encouraging signs. Every game that the Chargers have lost, they have thrown away a fourth quarter lead. Now, this defence looks to have life. Joey Bosa is playing like JJ Watt Lite, making his case for Defensive Rookie of the Year. Denzel Perryman and Jatavis Brown have had great season and the secondary is breaking up passes on big plays. Melvin Gordon is playing like a man who wants prove they made that his team made the right choice taking him in the first round of last year’s draft. After a disappointing rookie season, in which he failed to score a touchdown, Gordon has eight TD’s in seven games. The Chargers need to limit their turnovers, committing the second most in the league (18). Quick shout-out to the most underrated quarterback in the league, Philip Rivers.

19) Houston Texans (5-3)
I know they are 5-3. If any Houston fans saw this I would probably be cussed out within minutes. But I can’t put them any higher than this. Houston Texans offence is a huge problem. Brock Osweiler looks like an extremely expensive back-up quarterback. The Texans have been held without an offensive touchdown twice this season and have 11 offensive touchdowns on the year, which is the fewest in the NFL. The Texans defence has been playing well in the absence of JJ Watt. The offence will have to step up, however they do play in the worst division in football. The Texans do have a favourable looking schedule with only one of their remaining eight games is against a team above .500.
20) Baltimore Ravens (4-4)
The Ravens have had a crazy season. They started off their season 3-0 and looked like genuine AFC contenders. They then lost the next four games, throwing away 10-0 leads. Their defence and special teams has quietly carried them to the top of the underachieving AFC North. The Ravens has only allowed 123 first downs in eight games, which is by far the best in the NFL. Baltimore must improve on offence if they are going to make any sort of playoff run. Joe Flacco has some pretty underrated weapons at his disposal in Steve Smith, Breshad Perriman, Mike Wallace and Dennis Pitta. Kamar Aiken has been a disappointing, coming off a great season in 2015.

21) Carolina Panthers (3-5)
After the dominance of the Carolina Panthers in last year’s regular season, who would have thought they would have regressed this much? Especially now that Cam Newton now has his dominant wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin back. So what has gone wrong for the Panthers? The secondary has been extremely poor. They seem to have lost their mystique and swagger with Josh Norman leaving for Washington. The defensive front seven has not looked as dominant. And Cam Newton simply hasn’t played as well as last year. Some say he and the Panthers are experiencing a Super Bowl hangover. I don’t know about that, but Cam clearly doesn’t look the same player as he did last year. Too many overthrows and bad decisions have cost his team at times. Cam Newton is still one of the best quarterbacks in the league, which I don’t think is even a debate. His team are going to need him down the stretch. They have won their last two games and will need a win against an extremely tough Chiefs team have Justin Houston back to stop Cam Newton.

22) Miami Dolphins (4-4)
Our own Jay Ajayi has put this Miami Dolphins team on his back this season. The British running back is 6th in rushing yards and 1st in yards per carry. The Dolphins are on a three-game win streak, largely down to Ajayi averaging 176 yards per game. Miami’s defence and special teams has also been impressive in the last few games and will need to be as Miami have two road games coming up against San Diego and Los Angeles respectively. Ryan Tannehill continues to show his unreliability. He will need to impress in the second-half or this regular season to convince fans he is the franchise quarterback that he expect him to be.

23) New Orleans Saints (4-4)
New Orleans simply needs to score 32+ points to win a game. That’s how bad their defence has looked. In fairness, they have had a bunch of players out through injury on the defensive side. If they can come back and show they are able to hold teams to 20-25 points, New Orleans could make a late playoff surge. Drew Brees is still playing at an elite level, he has posted a Total QBR of at least 80 in five straight games, the longest streak in the NFL this season.  Rookie receiver Michael Thomas is quietly on pace for 95 catches, 10 touchdowns and 1,150 yards for the season.

24) Indianapolis Colts (4-5)
I don’t understand… Where exactly do the Colts spend their salary cap? They seem to be average or below average at every position (except for quarterback). Andrew Luck is going to be the best quarterback in the NFL, in my opinion. However, the Colts need to give him some protection. Their offensive line is extremely suspect and they are asking Luck to work miracles in order for them to win games. The defence and special teams stepped up last week against Green Bay. They will need more of the same and hope Andrew Luck can put together MVP calibre performances if they are going anywhere this season.

25) Tennessee Titans (4-5)
When Marcus Mariota is playing with confidence, this Titans offence is one of the best in the league. Mariota has some great weapons on offence and has found a way to get the most out of them, especially in their last five games. Tennessee has scored at least 26 points in that period. Mariota must limit turnovers; he has thrown five pick-6’s this season. The Titans have the 3rd best rushing attack in the NFL with DeMarco Murray and former Heisman winner Derrick Henry pounding the ball. If Mariota turns the ball over this weekend against the Green Bay Packers he will be punished by Aaron Rodgers.

26) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-5)
I have been really disappointed with Jameis Winston this year. Coming off an impressive rookie season, which he earned Pro-Bowl recognition, he has been consistently inconsistent, making bad decision and turnovers in clutch situations. As a huge Jameis fan, I didn’t expect him to regress this year. He must spread the ball around rather than relying on Mike Evans (I’m sure fantasy owners disagree). There have been times this season that the Buccaneers seem improved over their former selves. Halfway through the schedule, though, they are 3–5, halfway to the 6–10 finish posted by Lovie Smith’s last team a year ago. Worse yet, the Bucs have lost six straight at home, including all four this year. That makes it impossible to thrive in the NFL.

27) Los Angeles Rams (3-5)
What is going on in Los Angeles? They basically trade away for their future for quarterback Jared Goff and they bench him. It would be understandable if the Rams quarterback was playing too well to keep Goff out the team, but Case Keenum has a 40.2 Total QBR, which is worst in the NFL. We have seen six other rookie quarterbacks play this season, even undrafted Seahawk rookie Trevone Boykin has played before Jared Goff. Los Angeles held its past two opponents to an average of 238 yards and still lost twice. An offence that can’t score, a coach that no longer can win more than seven games in a season and a No. 1 pick that can’t even get onto the field. Questions need to be asked of the Rams GM and coach Jeff Fisher.

28) New York Jets (3-6)
I actually thought this team would make the playoffs. When they resigned Ryan Fitzpatrick, who had a great year in 2015, I believed they had everything they needed to make a playoff run. They have elite receivers in Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, they added elite running back Matt Forte and they have great personnel on defence. However, the words elite and great cannot be used when talking about the Jets this year. Fitzpatrick has thrown 13 interceptions, Eric Decker has been injured for most of the year and the defence is ranked 22nd in the NFL. Coach Todd Bowles needs to a strong finish to the season if he is to keep his job, 8-8 would be a disappointing season with the strength of this roster. I would love to see the Jets draft Deshaun Watson next year. He could do some damage with this offense.

29) Jacksonville Jaguars (2-6)
Another team I thought had an outside chance to make the playoffs. I gave them an off-season grade of A+, adding Malik Jackson, Chris Ivory, Prince Amukamara, Kelvin Beachum, Tashaun Gipson in free agency and drafting rookies Jalen Ramsey, Myles Jack and Yannick Ngakoue. However, the Jaguars are 2-6 and are lucky to have that record. If I were the Jaguars, I would start with looking for a new quarterback, I have never been a Blake Bortles fan and this year has put the final nail in the coffin. Too many poor decisions and interceptions have given the team little hope in winning games. He hasn’t been helped by his running backs Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon fumbling the ball. The defence is good enough to win some games for them down the stretch. Jaguars might be looking for a new coach sooner rather than later.

30) Chicago Bears (2-6)
Despite having great weapons on offensive in Alshon Jeffery, Eddie Royal, Zach Miller the Chicago Bears ranks 31st in total offense. Jay Cutler and Brian Hoyer are average quarterbacks, at best. Jordan Howard has emerged as a potential future running back for the Bears. That’s about all that Bears fans have to be happy about. They’re going to get a nice draft pick at least… potential Deshaun Watson landing spot.

31) San Francisco 49ers (1-7)
I thought about putting this team bottom, but they’ve won a game so… Colin Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert are average quarterbacks, they barely have any weapons on offence and the defence can’t stop a thing. It will be interesting to see if Chip Kelly keeps his job.

32) Cleveland Browns (0-9)
I feel sorry for coach Hue Jackon. He could have waited for the Bengals job. But he chose to come to Cleveland and try to sort out the mess that the franchise is in. They have drafted poorly for the last 10 years, they attract no free agents and they can’t find a starting quarterback. Terrelle Pryor has been a revelation, changing from quarterback to wide receiver. I’d like to see Robert Griffin III come back before the end of the season and see him win a game. Is that asking too much?
